Booster Run arrived in the Winter 2026 update. The game hands you a booster and perks at no cost, you play through levels, hit a target score, and try not to lose all your lives. Here is exactly how it works.
Booster Run landed in Match Masters as part of the Winter 2026 update alongside Booster Power-Ups and the Stamp It event.
It is the simplest of the three to understand. You play solo, you get a free booster and free perks, you try to beat a target score without running out of lives. No PvP, no opponents, no inventory cost.
Most players noticed it in the menu but were not sure whether it was worth their time. This guide covers exactly what happens when you play it and whether it should be part of your daily routine.
What Booster Run Is
Booster Run is a standalone solo mode. It is separate from the main PvP match system.
The core concept is straightforward. Candivore gives you a booster and a set of perks at no charge. You play a match-3 level against a target score. If you hit the target without losing all your lives, you pass the level and move to the next one.
The booster and perks provided are not taken from your personal inventory. You are not spending anything. When the run ends, your inventory is exactly the same as when you started.
This is the only mode in Match Masters where you play with a booster that costs you nothing. Every other match pulls from your personal inventory. Booster Run does not.
How to Find and Access It
here is how to start and get access to it:
- Open Match Masters and go to the main screen.
- Look for the Booster Run button or tab. It sits separately from the standard Play button. Its exact position in the UI may vary slightly depending on your app version.
- Tap it to see your current provided loadout the booster and perks Candivore is giving you for that run.
- Check your available lives. If you have lives remaining, tap Play to start the first level.
- The target score appears at the top of the level screen. Hit it to pass the level and move to the next one.
How the Mode Works
During a Booster Run level the target score sits at the top. Your provided booster activates like any standard booster during the match.

Provided Booster
Each Booster Run gives you a specific booster chosen by Candivore. You do not get to pick it. The booster type rotates across runs, so some sessions give you a Gold tier option while others might give you a Silver.
You use this booster the same way as in a normal match. Activate it at a point in the game where it will give you maximum benefit. The timing still matters even in a solo mode.
Provided Perks
A set of perks is applied automatically alongside the booster. These are not your account perks. They are a separate loadout provided for the run.
This means your perk upgrade level on your main account does not affect Booster Run performance. Everyone playing a given Booster Run session gets the same perk set.
Target Score
Every level has a target score displayed at the top of the screen. You need to hit or exceed this number before the tiles run out.
The target scales as you progress through levels. Early levels have lower targets that most players clear without difficulty. Later levels push the target high enough that you need to use the booster well and land a cascade or two to have a realistic chance.
Lives
You start each session with a set number of lives. Failing a level and ending without hitting the target score will costs one life.
When all lives are gone the Booster Run session ends. Lives regenerate over time on their own without any action from you. You can check how many lives you have and how long until the next one regenerates from the Booster Run screen.
The Lives System Explained
Lives are the main limit on how much Booster Run you can play in one sitting. The system works similarly to lives mechanics in other mobile games.
You have a maximum of three lives. Using all three ends your current session. They regenerate automatically over time. You do not need to do anything to earn them back except wait.
The regeneration rate means that if you check Booster Run once in the morning and once in the evening, you should typically have close to full lives both times. Playing it in long back-to-back sessions is not how the mode is designed to be used.
Do not waste lives on careless play. Each failed level costs a life. If you can see during a level that you are going to miss the target, using your booster deliberately in a position where it creates a cascade is still worth doing. It gives you practice on booster timing even from a losing position.
Booster Run vs Regular PvP Matches
The two modes feel similar but serve completely different purposes.
Booster Run
- Solo, no opponent
- Booster provided free
- Perks provided free
- No inventory cost
- Target score format
- Lives system limits sessions
- Good for learning boosters
- Modest coin rewards
Regular PvP Match
- Head-to-head opponent
- Use your own booster
- Your account perks apply
- Lose booster if you lose
- Beat opponent’s score
- Play as many as you want
- Trophy and rank stakes
- Better overall rewards
The key difference in practical terms: Booster Run has no downside. You cannot lose your inventory, your trophies, or your rank. A failed level costs a life and nothing else.
This is why it is a better environment for practising specific booster strategies than regular PvP matches. In a regular match, practising booster timing costs you a booster if you lose. In Booster Run, it costs nothing.
I never really understood how the tile-adding boosters worked before Booster Run. No stakes meant I could just try activating it at different points in the board and see what happened. Figured out the right timing in about four runs and then started using it properly in real matches.

What Rewards You Get
Completing Booster Run levels gives coins and occasional booster rewards. The amounts are modest.
Do not go into Booster Run expecting it to replace tournaments or events as a resource source. It does not come close in raw output.
The value is in the zero-cost practice and the small daily coin trickle. Treat it like collecting daily gifts. You do it because it costs nothing and adds something small. You do not skip your main match sessions for it.
If you want to build resources more meaningfully, tournaments and seasonal events are where the significant rewards come from. Our events guide covers how to get the most out of those.
Tips for Getting Through Levels
Here are the ways for getting through Levels:
Do not activate the booster immediately
The most common mistake. Wait until the board has near-matches in the upper rows before activating a tile-adding booster. First-turn activation usually wastes it.
Read the target before playing the first move
High targets need a cascade. Low targets do not. Knowing which you are dealing with changes whether you play conservatively or look specifically for cascade setups from the start.
Check the upper rows before every move
Same advice as in regular matches. The upper half of the board is where cascades come from. A cascade in Booster Run can easily score 250 to 300 points in one turn, which often decides whether you pass a level or not.
Cut losing levels short
If you can see by mid-level that you are not going to hit the target, do not spend time trying to recover. Finish the level quickly, accept the life loss, and move on. Lives regenerate. Time does not.
Use Booster Run to learn unfamiliar boosters
If you earn a booster type you have never used before, try it in Booster Run first before taking it into a PvP match. Learning an unfamiliar booster’s timing in a no-stakes environment saves inventory.
Play it daily as a warm-up
One or two Booster Run levels before your main session warms up your board reading without risking real resources. You start your PvP matches already thinking about cascades rather than having to shift gears mid-session.

Summary
Booster Run is not a major resource source. The rewards are small and the lives system limits how much you can play in one sitting. That is not what the mode is for.
Its value is in zero-cost practice. No booster spent, no trophy lost, no rank affected. If you have been wanting to try a booster type you are unfamiliar with, or if you want to practise cascade timing without consequence, Booster Run is the right place to do it.
Use it daily as a low-effort warm-up and occasional practice tool. Do not prioritise it over tournaments, events, or regular ranked matches when you have limited time.

Your current Booster Run session ends. Lives regenerate automatically over time without any action required. You can check the Booster Run screen to see how many lives you have and when the next one is due to return.
What rewards does Booster Run give?
Completing levels earns coins and occasionally booster rewards. The amounts are modest. Booster Run is not a major resource source — its main value is as a free, no-risk practice environment. For meaningful rewards, tournaments and seasonal events are the better options.
Is Booster Run good for new players?
